Meditor Trust Background
Meditor Trust deploys funds to support organisations that help alleviate the greatest suffering of people and animals around the world.
The Trust is a charitable foundation established in 2001. It is principally funded by Meditor which each year donates 100% of its profits. This is one of the ways that Meditor aims to ensure it has a positive impact on the world in which it operates.
The Trust aims to achieve the greatest possible philanthropic impact by researching deeply and focussing resources, following the principles of Effective Altruism. The emphasis is on poverty, especially in the Middle East and Africa. Most support is provided through project grants but alternative approaches are considered where appropriate. A top-down strategic approach is used to determine focus areas and methods of support. The Trust does not review unsolicited requests for funding.
Meditor Trust is administered by the Charities Aid Foundation.
