Meditor Trust supports recovery in Iraq.
Iraq is rebuilding its economy after years of conflict. A major issue is lack of employment opportunities, particularly in the private sector and especially among young people, where as many as 40% are without regular paid employment.
Meditor Trust set up a project in partnership with the Iraq Response Innovation Lab to support start-ups in the agribusiness sector through training, business planning, technical support, mentoring and seed funding. The project targeted businesses in conflict-affected areas. Meditor Trust funded the programme from design and operational costs through to seed funding of the businesses.
