A new boarding house for schoolgirls in Morocco supports access to education
Meditor Trust focusses on and supports a number of projects in the Middle East and North Africa. In one example the Trust funded the construction and equipment for a schoolgirls' boarding house near Marrakesh in Morocco through the Moroccan NGO Association Education For All.
Girls in many rural villages in the Atlas mountains do not attend senior school because of the distances involved and concerns around cost and safety. EFA runs several boarding houses near to schools which house girls aged 12-18 during term time and looks after their welfare through a "house mother". Good quality boarding and meals are provided without cost.
